To give the large number of participating partners the opportunity to communicate in their own design language and still show how they belong together during the festival, we developed a simple visual frame system, similar to a mount.
Faust-Festival München
For five months in 2018, Munich basked in the euphoria of Goethe’s most famous tragedy. At the initiative of Kunsthalle Munich and the municipal Gasteig Cultural and Educational Centre, more than 200 partners and institutions have joined forces for the largest cultural festival held in Munich to date. 250,000 visitors attended the more than 700 events from numerous artistic genres.
With its open and easily adaptable design concept, Abc&D won the competition for the visual communication of the festival. At the centre of the design concept is the formal reference to the genre-neutral narrative art of the comic, the colour yellow of the well-known Reclam paperbacks and a poodle borrowed from a famous quotation of the piece.

The website designed by Abc & D was the central communication tool before and during the festival. The entire program of more than 700 events as well as background information about the festival and its partners have been collected here.


In the largest "Z-Card" produced to date, all dates and events were combined in a compact format.




The Faust Festival Magazine reported about the festival and appeared as a supplement in the daily the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
