Förderpreis Neues Deutsches Kino

The winner of the »Förderpreis Neues Deutsches Kino« award receives 70,000 Euros in prize money, donated by the three partners: DZ Bank, Bavaria Film and the Bayerischer Rundfunk. The award goes to Germany’s most promising young directing talents in film. The unelaborate design gives the event a touch of glamour and represents the idea of an abstracted film reel.

The four-kilogram trophy is made from anodized aluminum and was designed by Atelier Steffen Kehrle. In 2012, the award ceremony took place in Munich for the first time at the Haus der Kunst.
