Filmfest München Corporate Design
Filmfest München is Germany’s largest film festival after the Berlinale. The Filmfest München and the Filmschoolfest Munich has commissioned Abc&D with overall design support since 2011. The institution’s design, which has been in existence for 30 years, was thoroughly revised and adapted to the new director’s current content and technical conditions beforehand.
During the brand analysis process and strategy, a festive image was defined, this included both the fair’s public-orientation and its summer vibe. The brand’s core is reflected in the new corporate design on over 120 various media and the film festival’s campaigns.
Filmfest München’s new logo is elegant and leaves room for the very image-heavy communication. Every year, an expressive key visual is developed under the creative direction of Abc&D, which is then implemented by one of Europe’s last poster painters. The extremely haptic look lends the festival a certain autonomy and cinematic atmosphere. The main feature are the sunglasses, which symbolize Munich’s summer and stars on the red carpet. In addition to the annual changing key visual, an intelligent and adaptable corporate design system exists as a season-neutral framework.
Since the revision of the imagery, the festival has seen a visitor increase of ten percent to almost 80,000.
